The total length of reconstructed heating lines is 5 km. By July 12, Heating Lines, a branch of AO MOSENERGO, has completed repairs at sections No. 11 (Polbina Street) and No. 9 (Rassvetnaya Alley), which are 1 km long. Another 1.5 km of lines is ready for commissioning. AO MOSENERGO has provided financing for all repairs.

In addition, the plan for preparing the company for the 2002/2003 heating season provides for replacement of 70 km of pipes with expired amortization. The company will lay 12.5 km of pipe insulated with polyurethane foam. At various sections of the heating grid the company replaced old equipment.

Under the program for improving heating-line performance, AO MOSENERGO installed frequency-regulated drives at some pumping stations. This equipment allows for smoother performance of grid pumps and prevents critical load on pipes. These drives have been installed at Khapilovskaya and Yuzhno-Izmailovskaya pump stations—two new stations to be commissioned this summer.

In 2002, the Heating Grids budget (adjusted for current tariffs) for preparation of the coming heating season is 2.4 billion rubles.
