OAO MOSENERGO has completed over 80% of the scheduled repair work on the heat-mechanical equipment in preparation for the autumn-winter peak electric consumption of 2007-2008

OAO MOSENERGO is continuing its repair campaign aimed at preparing heat-mechanical and electrical equipment for operation under the autumn-winter peak electric consumption in 2007-2008.

At present over 80% of repair work on heat-mechanical equipment and over 70% of the scheduled repair work on generators and transformers has been completed.

The following equipment has been repaired at OAO MosenergO’s electric power plants:

  • 5 power units,
  • 16 power-generating boilers,
  • 15 steam turbines and 2 gas turbines,
  • 3 peak-load hot-water boilers,
  • 21 generators (15 under overhaul and 6 under mid-life repair),
  • 35 transformers (12 under overhaul and 23 under routine maintenance),
  • 10 circuit breakers for 110-500 kV (3 under overhaul and 7 under mid-life repair).

The repair campaign aimed at preparing equipment for operation under the autumn-winter peak electric demand in 2007-2008 is being carried out in line with the order of General Director of OAO MOSENERGO Mr. A.Ya.Kopsov and also according to the instructions of the Mayor of Moscow Mr. Yu.M.Luzhkov on the immediate start of preparing the city’s energy facilities for the winter.

The repair campaign of OAO MOSENERGO is being carried out to improve the reliability of electric power plants and the performance of basic equipment, as well as to reduce hazardous atmospheric emissions. It will also promote optimal preparation of equipment for operation under the winter peak load, including its operation in the power mobilization mode.
