On Tuesday, January 30, the General Director of OAO Mosenergo, A.Ya. Kopsov, held a meeting on the «Results of industrial safety activities of the Company’s subsidiaries for 2006 and challenges for 2007» with power plant directors, representatives of RAO UES of Russia, the Moscow Government, Rostekhnadzor, Elektroprofsoyuz, and contractors.
S.A. Pronin, Technical Audit Director at OAO Mosenergo, presented a summary report at the meeting. He noted that the number of industrial accidents at the Company’s subsidiaries had decreased in 2006 compared to 2005. Seven injuries were recorded at the companies in 2005 and five in 2006. Twenty-seven of the 32 subsidiaries ended the year without any injuries.
Groups of psychologists were organized at OAO Mosenergo’s subsidiaries to provide psychophysical industrial safety. Staff psychologists at the subsidiaries conducted more than 150 in-depth examinations of employees and 160 private sessions in 2006.
A specialized psychophysical relief office was set up at TETs-23, where a psychologist works with personnel to reduce the negative effects of industrial stress.
More than 320 million rubles were allocated for improving working conditions and preventing industrial accidents in 2006.
In an effort to improve the occupational safety and industrial injury prevention system, an inspection contest was held for the best organization of activities in this area among the Company’s subsidiaries in 2006. TETs-26 came first, TETs-23 came second, and TETs-8 came third.
In 2007, the company’s occupational safety activities will be brought into conformance with the international OHSAS standard. Fulfilling the conditions of this standard will help reduce industrial accidents.
