Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, and Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of Rosseti, together with Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia, took part in the ceremony of launching the first stage of the 110 kV voltage class substation Plievo Novaya during their working visit to the North Caucasus Federal District.

This energy facility is one of the largest and the most strategically important industry projects implemented by Rosseti Group in the North Caucasus. Plievo Novaya substation is a switching unit that provides the creation of the energy ring of nine 110 kV power transmission lines passing through the territory of Ingushetia, North Ossetia and Chechnya Republics, which, in turn, significantly increases the reliability of the entire power system of the North Caucasus.

“This is a momentous event for the entire North Caucasus Federal District. Opening of an entirely new digital substation, built completely with domestic equipment, boosts the development of the country's energy system and creates the necessary conditions for connecting new regional consumers, which is extremely important in terms of the plans for the development of local territories,” Alexander Novak said in his welcoming remarks.

“I want to thank everyone involved in the construction and pre-commissioning of the facility of such importance for Ingushetia. We do have huge plans, as well as plans within the implementation of national projects, and a modern, affordable infrastructure is vital for their implementation. Prievo Novaya substation solves this problem,” said Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov.

"Plievo Novaya substation is another Rosseti Group energy facility, built within the Digital Transformation 2030 concept. The solutions implemented here enable to achieve a higher level of redundancy and operational management, and hence reliability, as well as increase its lifespan, minimizing both operational and capital costs. We are doing everything to create necessary infrastructure conditions in the regions for their dynamic development,” said Pavel Livinskiy.

Due to the commissioning of the first stage of the Plievo Novaya substation, consumers get additional 48 MW of transformer capacity. The second phase is planned to be commissioned in mid-2020.
