ROSSETI

December 24, 2020

Rosseti put into operation four digital substations: in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Krasnodar Territory, the Vologda and Leningrad regions

The launching ceremony was held in the video conference mode with the participation of Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of Rosseti, Natalia Komarova and Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Heads of the regions, Alexander Trembitsky, and Sergey Kharlashkin, Vice-Governors, as well as the Heads of Rosseti Tyumen, Rosseti Kuban, Rosseti North-West, Rosseti Lenenergo.

The total cost of implemented projects is about 2.2 billion rubles. Three digital substations were built from scratch - in the Krasnodar Territory, the Vologda and Leningrad regions. The facility in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug underwent a deep modernization with the introduction of a set of digital technologies.

- The 110 kV Angarskaya substation with a capacity of 50 MVA has become a new power centre for the million-plus city of Krasnodar. The main task is to improve the reliability of power supply to the northeastern regions with a population of 320,000 people and 240 socially significant objects. The substation will ensure connection of new residential buildings and the regional clinical hospital. The Russian-made modern energy-efficient equipment has been installed, which will significantly reduce the cost of its maintenance and repair. The project cost amounted to 721 million rubles.

- The 35 kV Balaton and 110 kV Yasen substations with a total capacity of 40 MVA will provide the Babaevskaya and Divenskaya compressor stations with the required capacity to expand the gas supply system of the regions and ensure the supply of blue fuel to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The facilities are tooled up with advanced equipment, remote monitoring and online management. The project investments amounted to 343 million rubles and 580 million rubles.

- The 110 kV Orekhovskaya substation with a capacity of 32 MVA is of key importance for the power supply of petroleum industry enterprises in the Nizhnevartovsk region of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The substation capacity has been doubled, which will increase reliability and make it possible to connect new consumers. The project investments amounted to 485 million rubles.

All substations comply with the Digital Transformation 2030 Concept. The main equipment is made in Russia. Advanced technological solutions have been introduced to provide observability and remote control of the operation of all equipment. Automated control systems process up to 3,500 signals. Information exchange has been transformed into digital based on the IEC 61850 protocol. Multifunctional measuring and metering devices, modern microprocessor relay protection have been installed.
