Within the framework of the Russian Energy Week, a meeting between representatives of PJSC ROSSETI and Chubu University was held, at which the progress in implementing joint initiatives by Russian energy workers and Japanese scientists was discussed.
Under the Agreement executed by PJSC ROSSETI and Chubu University a year earlier, the parties conduct scientific consultations and exchange of experience on the creation of electrical power transmission based on high-temperature superconductivity.
As Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of PJSC ROSSETI, stressed, it is very important for companies to establish active cooperation with both representatives of the Russian scientific community and their foreign colleagues. "ROSSETI, together with Japanese scientists, will introduce advanced technologies for power supply of metropolises in order to increase the efficiency of the power grid complex," Pavel Livinskiy notes.
The next step in the development of cooperation was the approval of a program of joint research for designing a superconducting cable for power supply of metropolises.
The SuperOx Company, the first Russian manufacturer of a high-temperature superconductor, took part in the meeting. The company expressed its willingness to provide the supply of a key structural element for HTS cables. Furthermore, a promising HTS current-limiting technology was discussed in the course of the meeting, which will significantly improve the level of energy efficiency and energy security of metropolises.
