ROSSETI head Oleg Budargin flew to the Crimean Federal District on August 16 with an official visit. Less than two months remain until the start of the 2014-2015 fall-winter season. Due to this, the head of ROSSETI is personally inspecting the progress of preparing operations for the maximum winter loads at facilities within the main transmission grids and mobile gas-turbine electric power plants in the region while also meeting with the workers in these facilities.
Oleg Budargin particularly paid a visit to the Zapadno-Krymskaya substation in the Saksky district where the mobile power stations are being kept and inspected the work of Russia's largest base housing the mobile gas-turbine electric power plants, the Simferopol substation. All of the mobile gas-turbine electric power plants have been assembled from ROSSETI's assets.
The mobile gas-turbine electric power plants are able to provide reserve power which significantly increases the reliability of the power supplied to the facilities in the Black Sea Fleet, vital social facilities and ordinary consumers. The power station that is currently in "cold standby" is able to become fully operational in 7 minutes after the order is given.
The head of ROSSETI also met with the head of the newly created KrymEnergo State Unitary Enterprise Viktor Plakida, where he discussed a number of issues related to developing the energy system of the Crimean Peninsula. This particularly includes consolidating efforts to develop the energy system and thus improving the reliability of the power supply in Crimea, preparing for the 2014-2015 fall-winter season, human resource development, developing electric transport and electric safety measures. These and a host of other issues must be included in the bilateral agreement that should be signed between ROSSETI and the KrymEnergo State Unitary Enterprise in the near future.
