Moscow, November 11, 2005. OJSC CenterTelecom carries on the work aimed at providing services of communications and Internet access in the countryside. By the end of November the Lipetsk Branch of the Company and the Culture and Arts Department of the Lipetsk Region Administration will have completed their joint project on providing rural libraries with telephony and Internet access services.
In the course of the project 33 rural libraries in the region will be provided with telephone communication, and 19 libraries will get broadband Internet access based on the ADSL technology. Now 29 libraries have been provided with a telephone network; 16 libraries have access to the world wide web.
Today the Lipetsk branch of CenterTelecom is the only carrier and service provider that operates in the rural areas of this region, which is the basis ensuring further successful development of telecommunication services in the region.
