MOSCOW – CenterTelecom OJSC reports that it has taken part in the 11th International Conference "Situation with IP Communications and IP Services in Russia and Its Development Prospects" organized by Russia's Association of Documentary Telecommunications and supported by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Media. The event was held on 7-8 September in Moscow.
The participants of the conference have discussed various aspects of information and telecommunications services provided in Russia as well as trends in developments of IP services and IP telecommunications in the country. In general the conference's goal was to reduce the level of digital inequality in Russian regions, to provide wider access of Russian companies and citizens to mass communications and information resources, to improve the quality and to expand the range of information and telecommunications services.
Vadim Kondratov, Deputy General Director, Technical Director, CenterTelecom, presented to the conference participants his report on development of new convergent services according to Telco2.0 Initiative. According to Mr. Kondratov, an increase in number of broadband Internet users allows to open new opportunities for market participants. According to Telco2.0 Initiative, a modern telecommunications operator is a seller of complex telecommunications solutions striving to expand its business area not only by means of traffic transfer. The service providers include the operators themselves as well as independent content providers, state organizations and other companies. For instance, CenterTelecom is working on development of network architecture including architecture of its own mobile networks in Yaroslavl, Ivanovo and Kostroma regions, and on construction of mobile communications network based on MVNO in its Moscow branch.
