Michael Smirnov, the General Director of MGTS, said: "This is an outstanding event for the Moscow residents. New MGTS services will combine convenience of traditional telephony services with regard to payment methods and dialling with low prices typical for cards offered by alternative operators."
To call to any destination worldwide by means of MGTS telematic services, customer will have to dial 8-499-7-6-5-4-3 instead of traditional 8-10, and then, as usual, dial country code, city code and the destination call number.
"In fact, we can say that our subscribers, on the one hand, will face only minor changes in placing long-distance and international calls through dialling "8", on the other hand, they will see the rates dropping dramatically. And they won't have to find a place to buy a card and dial an additional PIN code for identification," said Michael Smirnov.
The services will be billed after their provision. All long-distance and international calls as well as subscriber fee will be included in one single monthly bill.
Rates will be applied from the moment connection is established, according to predetermined tariff plans. For example, calls within Russia will cost from RUR 1.50 to RUR 4 per minute. Calls to the CIS countries will cost from RUR 4 to RUR 10, to Europe and the USA - RUR 4, to other countries outside the CIS - from RUR 6 to RUR 20.
