On 13 November 2001, an auction to determine the interest rate of the first coupon of OJSC MGTS bonds was held. According to the auction results, the coupon rate of interest was fixed at 21.95% per annum. The total amount of the bonds placed during the first day of the auction made up Six Hundred Eighty (680) million rubles. The further bonds placement proceeded in the negotiated transaction format and was completed in full on 15 November 2001.
The issue of the MGTS bonds was effected with the support of the banking syndicate comprising JSCB (Joint-Stock Commercial Bank) "Trust and Investment Bank" (TIB) and JSCB "Moscow Bank for Reconstruction and Development" (MBRD). The TIB bank acted as the arranger and underwriter, while the MBRD bank assisted in arranging and was appointed the paying agent and market maker of the issue.
