Public Joint Stock Company Moscow City Telephone Network (MGTS) has announced the appointment of Mr. Alexander Konovalov PJSC MGTS Deputy General Director for Commerce, who previously directed the corporate business and partner relationship activity of Nortel Networks – North-East Europe.
“The appointment of Mr. Konovalov, who has a vast international sales experience, will essentially strengthen the commercial block of the Company. The MGTS position in the Moscow telecommunication business market should be more aggressive given the plans we have set forth for ourselves”, Mr. Mikhail Smirnov, the Company’s General Director, said.
From 19 January 2004 onwards, PJSC MGTS has started a large-scale reconstruction of the Network, replacing the analog exchanges with digital ones. The new electronic exchanges capabilities will enable the Company to concentrate on developing value added services, eliminate the telephone installation waiting list problem, and create all prerequisites for an increase of the PJSC MGTS subscriber base.
“The chief objective is to create a new, workable, structure of the Company which will be engaged in sales, and not in “distributing” short-supply facilities. This will require reconsideration of shaping the services generating and vending process, and necessitate conceptually different lines of approach to marketing and advertisement issues, and, in the first instance, to the customer service operation”, Mr. Konovalov said.
Prior to Nortel Networks, from 2000 to 2003, Mr. Konovalov worked for the international services division of the American company Avaya. From 1996 to 2000, he had charge of the customer servicing business development of the Lucent Technologies European Headquarters; from 1994 to 1996 he held the office of Deputy General Director of the AT&T Representation – Russia.
Likewise, by order of Public Joint Stock Company Moscow City Telephone Network General Director, Mr. Andrey Kudryavtsev was appointed new PJSC MGTS Director of Personnel who before his present designation held similar office at JSC Mobile TeleSystems. Mr. Vladimir Afonin, the immediate past Personnel Director of PJSC MGTS, was appointed assistant to the Company’s General Director for corporate activity.
