Two employees of LOMO in the structure of collective of designers were given the State reward of the Russian Federation 2003 in the sphere of science and technique.
   The State prize was awarded by the edict of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin to the group of designers for creation and introduction in regular production of portable air-defence missile system "Igla-S". Among members of the group there are deputy technical director on defence production of LOMO Nikolay Shoustov and the chief of laboratory - Igor Evdokimov. Besides representatives of the Petersburg optical firm, employees of Kolomenskoye bureau of device engineering, Defence Ministry and research institute of experimental physics were also awarded for this system.
   We remind, that portable air-defence missile system "Igla-S" was adopted by the Russian Army in 2002. The target seeker of the system - eyes and brain of high-precision device - was created inside LOMO.
