Lenta opens its first three supermarkets in Yekaterinburg

St. Petersburg, Russia; 29 September, 2017– Lenta, (LSE, MOEX: LNTA) one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to introduce the supermarket format to the Urals with the opening of its first three stores in Yekaterinburg.

All three supermarkets open simultaneously across different districts of Yekaterinburg. The first store is situated close to the city centre at 79 Kuznechnaya street. The store has a total area of 1,038 sq.m with 614 sq.m of selling space and is served by 6 cash registers.

The supermarket at 31 Syromolotova street has a total area of 1,667 sq.m with 945 sq.m of selling space. The new store has 60 parking spaces and 8 cash registers.

The third newly open store is located at 273, 8 Marta street. The store has a total area of 1,437 sq.m with 945 sq.m of selling space. Likewise, this supermarket benefits from 60 parking spaces and 8 cash registers.

All stores will be open from 8 am to 11pm. A broad product assortment ranging from 5000 to 6500 SKUs has been selected specifically for the residents of Yekaterinburg and includes Lenta’s private labels and federal product ranges alongside various local produce. All real estate is fully owned by Lenta.

These stores are Lenta’s first supermarkets in the Urals and bring the total number of Lenta stores to 201 hypermarkets in 79 cities across Russia and 64 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and the Central region.

Lenta’s Chief Executive Officer Jan Dunning commented:

Our customers will benefit from all the advantages offered by Lenta across the country: a range of high-quality fresh foods, guaranteed discounts for loyalty cardholders, regular promotions and personalized special offers.”
