Lenta opens its second hypermarket in Novokuznetsk

With this opening, Lenta expands its network in Siberia to 19 hypermarkets in 10 cities.

St-Petersburg, Russia; 28 October, 2014– Lenta, (LSE, MOEX: LNTA) one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to announce the opening of its second hypermarket in Novokuznetsk.
The new store is a Lenta “compact” format hypermarket located in Novokuznetsk at 7A Zorge Street. The store has a total area of 9,000 sq.m, with 4,680 sq.m. of selling space and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A broad product assortment of 22,100 SKUs has been selected specifically for residents of Novokuznetsk and includes Lenta’s private label and federal product ranges alongside local produce. The store has 400 parking spaces and 31 cash registers. The property is owned by Lenta.

Jan Dunning, Chief Executive Officer of Lenta, said:

“We are very pleased to announce the opening of our 2nd hypermarket in Novokuznetsk. This is our 5th store in the Kuzbass region and brings our network in Siberia to 19 hypermarkets . We are excited about opportunities in Novokuznetsk and plan to open 3 more hypermarkets in the city before the end of 2015.”

The opening of this hypermarket in Novokuznetsk brings the total number of Lenta stores to 88 hypermarkets in 50 cities across Russia and 18 supermarkets in the Moscow region.
