President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Dmitry Artyukhov, signed an Addendum to the Agreement on Social and Economic Cooperation for 2019, in Moscow today.
According to the document, LUKOIL will support the local non-governmental sports organizations: the Yamal-Nenets Federation of Light and Ultralight Aviation Arctic Wings, the region's Federation of Judo and the Federation of Figure Skating. The company will also provide financing to the following non-profit organizations: Yamineh, a charity foundation for children; the Yamal Regional Innovation and Investment Foundation, the Veterans Union of Yamal and the Charity Foundation for the Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East.
The company will also support Yamal's regional Muslim association and finance the winning bids of a contest for social and cultural projects, to be implemented by the winners in the Tazov district of Salekhard.
INFORMATION
LUKOIL started operations in the Yamal-Nenets District in 2004. The company holds licenses for six areas with eight field, Pyakyakhinskoye being the largest of them. The field’s initial recoverable reserves equal 86 million metric tons of oil and gas condensate, and 261 billion cubic meters of gas. Commercial production started in 2016.
