February 14, 2008, Moscow: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, announced that COMSTAR-Direct CJSC, the premier broadband Internet provider (STREAM brand), a member of COMSTAR-UTS, had launched the TV REBROADCAST pilot.
TV REBROADCAST is a service for the Internet+TV subscribers. It enables to watch TV programs broadcasted earlier over the air at any time. TV REBROADCAST provides Internet TV with enhanced end-user experience.
Sergey Nazarov, Marketing Vice President of COMSTAR-UTS JSC, said, "Today city dwellers often have no time to watch their favorite programs. With this unique service our clients will be able to watch the programs they consider important without changing their personal plans. COMSTAR is the first Russian operator introduced such kind of service."
TV REBROADCAST applies to the following on-air channels: 7TV, MTV-Russia, RenTV, Domashny, DTV, Zvezda, Kultura, Muz-TV, NTV, Channel One, Rossiya, RTR-Sport, STS, TV3, TVC, TNT.
The service subscribers can watch TV programs, broadcasted on-air within the last 24 hours. During the pilot period (14th February – 14th May, 2008) the TV REBROADCAST service will be charge-free.
