Moscow, Russia – February 14, 2011 – “COMSTAR – United TeleSystems” JSC (“Comstar”) (LSE: CMST), the largest integrated telecommunications provider in Moscow and 84 Russian cities, with a presence in Ukraine and Armenia, today announces that Alexey Kaurov, Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Comstar with effect from March 1, 2011 and until April 1, 2011. The appointment follows the resignation of Sergey Pridantsev as President and Chief Executive Officer of Comstar, which was accepted by Comstar’s Board of Directors at its meeting on Friday, February 11, 2011.
