COMSTAR-UTS to provide RESO International Business Center in Saint-Petersburg with telecom services

November 25, 2008, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg. COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS OJSC, LSE: CMST), a major operator of integrated telecommunications services in Russia and the CIS, announces the victory it has scored in the tender for provision of telecom services to the RESO International Business Center, a Class A business center in Saint-Petersburg.

The RESO IBC is one of the most advanced, biggest and high-rise (21 storeys) business centers in Saint-Petersburg. The engineering facilities of this Complex qualify it as an Intelligent Building system.

Autohaus SPb, the management company, held tenders in which several major fixed-line operators participated, to select a telecom operator for the RESO IBC. COMSTAR Saint-Petersburg Branch won the tender thanks to the best terms it offered the management company and prospective tenants for execution of work to establish a telecom infrastructure for such a compound commercial real estate property. The Operator provides the services using its own Next Generation Network (NGN) and employs customer-oriented approach to address Customer’s requirements; in particular, the Operator provides individual package tariff plans for corporate customers.

The integrated solution offered to the management company of the Business Center, is built around Cisco and Avaya equipment. Such services as broadband Internet access at up to 10 Gbps, digital telephony with a comprehensive suite of VAS including DLD/ILD communications, will be within the Building tenants’ reach. Security of the services in the RESO IBC is achieved thanks to complete redundancy of communication channels, i.e.: there are two independent fiber optic cables terminating into the Building, with each FOC capable to ensure independent provision of a full suite of services.

“We are so happy about our company having been selected as the prime telecom provider for the RESO IBC. The value of this victory is determined not only by the scope of the project, but also by the great complexity of process-oriented and conceptual solutions implemented in it. We will use our best efforts such that the management company and tenants could gain maximum benefit and comfort from the service that our company provides,” said Denis Kramarenko, Commercial Director, COMSTAR-UTS OJSC Saint-Petersburg Branch.

According to Sergey Usikov, Head of IT Section, Management Company Autohaus SPb: “The objective of the tender was about identification of the best way to provide the Center’s tenants with telecommunication services.   COMSTAR-UTS came up with one of the concepts of partnership between the management company of a commercial real estate property and telecom operator, which is most relevant in worldwide practise nowadays, i.e.: On-site Service Provider (OSP) that will create hi-tech environment for business activity, thus making the Business Center much more attractive to the tenants.”
