By the end of 9 months 2003 KAMAZ Inc. has retailed 17 435 trucks, including 14 253 at Russian market, as per on-line data.
Thus, KAMAZ has covered sales volume of the domestic market for 2002 (13 631) by 622 truck units within 3 quarters of 2003. The production growth of KamAZ trucks is increased by 27 % as compared with the same period of last year (3666 units).
Gross output volume for the period of 9 months 2003 is 17 billion 453 million rubles, what is 21% more in comparable prices vs. 2002. It is produced 29 000 “Oka” passenger cars, 21 962 engines and power units ( taking into consideration assembly of trucks of local production), trucks and passenger cars spare parts valued 3 billion 450 rubles, diversification output 2 billion 193 million rubles worth.
Heavy duty trucks are more in demand. Thus, the orders for KamAZ – 6520 dump trucks with carrying capacity 20 ton are scheduled till the end of the year and the today signed contracts will be accomplished only in January 2004. Now Kama automobile plant produces serial truck tractors 6460 and 5460 with permissible load on the fifth –wheel device 17 and 10,8 ton, four-wheel dump truck 6540 with carrying capacity 18,5 ton and the same chassis for maintaining of superstructures. Today KAMAZ produces 26 general models of trucks and more 250 modifications and assemblies, equipped with Euro-1 and Euro-2. New KAMAZ trucks are equipped only with Euro-2 engines.
Heavy duty truck production is yet limited by delivery of original assemblies, which are produced by exterior manufacturers of Russia and abroad. Nevertheless, KAMAZ, actively cooperating with potential partners manufacturing modern vehicle components, has produced approximately 700 trucks and started the production of 120 units per month. Promising trends of sales volume growth show that KamAZ trucks are confidently striking their market.
