Moscow, 12 December 2008. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation I.I.Sechin has been elected Chairman of the OJSC INTER RAO UES Board of Directors.

The resolution was passed at the meeting of the Company's Board of Directors which took place in Moscow today.

The in-presentio meeting was attended by the following members of the OJSC INTER RAO UES Board of Directors: N.A.Anoshko, E.V.Dod, V.M.Kravchenko, G.M.Kurtser, A.M.Lokshin, S.V.Maslov, Yu.A.Petrov, I.I.Sechin. K.G.Seleznyov has provided his written opinion.

The OJSC INTER RAO UES Board of Directors also dealt with the business of electing the Secretary of the Board of Directors and of Committees of the Company's Board of Directors.

Based on the results of the discussion, it was found expedient to set up three Committees of the OJSC INTER RAO UES Board of Directors: Audit Committee, HR and Compensation Committee, and Strategy and Investments Committee.

R.R.Sharipov was elected Secretary of the Board of Directors.

The OJSC INTER RAO UES Board of Directors was elected by an extraordinary General Meeting of the Company's shareholders 23 October 2008.
