MMC Norilsk Nickel has established a new department for mergers and acquisitions with the aim of further improving its organisational structure.  Dmitry Razumov has been named Deputy General Director for Mergers and Acquisitions.  The new department will be supervised by Leonid Rozhetskin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.

“Right now the analysis and effective exploitation of new strategic opportunities in Russia and abroad are among the most important areas of the company’s activities.  Given this, the setting up of a structure that will deal exclusively with mergers and acquisitions is absolutely necessary”, says Mr Rozhetskin.

The department for mergers and acquisitions will carry out the financial analysis and evaluation of international assets with a view to establishing their investment potential, the extent to which they would fit in with the company’s development strategy and their effect on the company’s market capitalisation. The department will also implement the proposed M&A transactions.
