LSR Group starts guardrails production

LSR Group started to produce reinforced concrete road dividing fences. These are to be installed as guardrails at the public roads.

The technical documentation for the production of guardrails was developed in accordance with the EU systems, in particular, with the Italian one. However, considering the current economic situation the production involving the usage of foreign components appears to be economically impractical due to their high cost.

In order to optimize the product price, a set of measures was adopted aimed at substitution of import components by local analogues. In cooperation with Italian specialists the design documentation was revised and the European system of guardrails was rearranged to meet requirements of the Russian standards.

The product was tested at the site of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation FSUE “NAMI”. Subsequent to the test results a statement of the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction University “MADI” was obtained confirming the compliance of the guardrails with all the technical requirements and licensing their installation on public roads.

The distinctive feature of the guardrails developed by LSR Group is that the reinforced concrete elements are installed on already existing roads. Their installation does not require mounting of additional reinforced concrete securing elements on the road or embedding them in the pavement. This is achieved by the configuration of the blocks, and through the use of internal basic reinforcement structure. After the assembly of this structure is finished, it forms an integrated elastic belt ensuring the performance of the whole system. From a security standpoint this means that in case of a car crash the impact energy will be distributed over the entire length of the fence, preventing the vehicle from entering to the oncoming lane.

It is noteworthy that damaged elements could be easily replaced and the traffic flow pattern could be changed by a simple rearrangement of blocks on the roadway.

A number of companies engaged in road construction have already expressed their interest in the guardrails produced by LSR Group.
