The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Igor Sechin, President, Chairman of the Rosneft Management Committee.
The parties discussed the implementation of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement and the Agreement of Cooperation on gas supply to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
The meeting addressed arrangement of gas supplies to the petrochemical complex, owned by Eastern Petrochemical Company. Special attention was paid to the fact that Gazprom was developing a project for construction of a gas lateral from the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas transmission system to the Vrangel district of the Nakhodka city and the Vrangel gas distribution station (GDS), as well as construction of an inter-settlement gas pipeline from the GDS to the petrochemical complex.
Alexey Miller and Igor Sechin discussed offshore operations on the shelf and associated petroleum gas use.
Background
The Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Gazprom and Rosneft was signed on November 28, 2006 for the period up to 2015.
The document provides for Gazprom and Rosneft to cooperate in the hydrocarbons exploration, production, transportation and processing sectors, natural and associated gas marketing, electric and thermal power generation and marketing, petroleum and power equipment manufacturing, development of production capacities and infrastructure's facilities, along with sci-tech, information, environmental, social and staffing support.
On July 19, 2008 the Agreement of Cooperation on gas supply to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District was signed between Gazprom and Rosneft. In accordance with the document Gazprom, in particular, purchased a 25 per cent plus one share stake in Daltransgaz from Rosneft.
