Today in Nadym Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee moderated a meeting dedicated to winter preparation of the production facilities of Gazprom northern subsidiaries, gas production and transportation companies for the winter period.

Attending the meeting were heads and specialists of the core business units of Gazprom and its subsidiaries including Yamburggazdobycha, Urengoigazprom, Nadymgazprom, Noyabrskgazdobycha, Tumentransgaz, Surgutgazprom, Severgazprom, Burgaz, Yamalgazinvest, Gazkomplektimpex, VNIPIgazdobycha and etc.

The meeting specified that the preparation analysis of the Gazprom Unified Gas Supply System facilities for operation during winter of 2007-2008 demonstrated the fact that the major amount of activities were executed in pursuance of the goals and plans set up. The UGSS is mainly ready to operate during winter season.

On the eve of the meeting a Gazprom delegation visited the gas production facilities in the Zapolyarnoye field, which acquires the largest natural reserves estimating at 3.14 tcm of gas. The participants also reviewed the progress with the construction of the unit #4 of the Purtazovskaya compressor station. The said facility is planned to be commissioned at the end of 2007 enabling to significantly increase throughput capacity of the Zapolyarnoye-Novy Urengoi gas transportation system.

The meeting resulted in decisions aimed at completing the preparation activities for a winter period.

During the preparation for the winter period of 2007-2008 the UGS facilities replenished the volume gas withdrawn during the last autumn-winter period. The Company created commercial gas reserves in amount of 63.5 bcm, which is 500 mcm more comparing with the rate in 2006.

The potential average daily productivity of UGS during December-February was increased by 4.4 mcm to 492.4 mcm of gas. Maximum potential average productivity will reach 608 mcm during the stat-up of replenishment, which is 8 mcm more than the average rate of last year.

1919.6 gas mains were re-isolated, 381 km of pipes were repaired, 125 summered crossings were repaired and 1101 summered crossings were inspected, 12.8 thousand km of gas mains were in-tube diagnosed. 702 average and capital repair works were provided for gas pumping units at the compressor stations.

Within the preparation for a winter period the preventive maintenance was provided for 75 gas installations and 70 units of booster compressor stations. The company provided capital repair for 445 wells and 25 wells were commissioned.

Gazprom plans to produce 294.7 bcm of gas during the autumn-winter period of 2007-2008.

Gazprom plans to commission UKPG-10 of the Kharvutiskaya area of the Yamburgskoye field, the second train of booster compressor station of the Yubileinoye field and 136 new wells.
