A meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Peter Voser, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell took place today as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2013.
The parties discussed the current state of strategic cooperation as well as its development prospects.
Background
Shell is a British-Dutch oil and gas company focused on hydrocarbons production, processing and marketing in over 90 countries of the world.
On November 30, 2010 Gazprom and Shell signed the Protocol on Global Strategic Cooperation stipulating wider interaction of the companies in prospecting for, producing, processing and distributing hydrocarbons on the Russian and international energy markets.
On April 8, 2013 Gazprom and Shell signed a Memorandum outlining the principles of cooperation in prospecting for and producing hydrocarbons in Russia's Arctic shelf and a block of deep-water shelf abroad.
