Cars to be fueled with natural gas at Gazprom Neft’s filling stations

Viktor Zubkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom, Chairman of the Management Committee – Director General of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo and Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft signed today at the Gazprom headquarters an Agreement regarding the installation of natural gas vehicle fueling units at Gazprom Neft's filling stations.

The parties will take a set of actions aimed at installing NGV fueling units at Gazprom Neft's existing filling stations as well as new multi-fuel filling centers currently under construction.

Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo will be the investor of the said projects and Gazprom Neft will be the building contractor. The economic expediency of installing a NGV fueling unit at a specific station will be determined individually.

In addition, the parties will contribute to increasing the NGV fleet and expanding the relevant infrastructure in the regions where Gazprom Neft is present.

“A multifold increase in the number of stations enabling to fuel cars with natural gas is a particularly vital task when it comes to the availability of gas as an engine fuel. A strong contribution in solving this task will be the installation of NGV fueling units at Gazprom Neft's filling stations,” noted Viktor Zubkov.

“There are really good prospects for gas to take a segment in the NGV market, especially when speaking about the municipal, passenger and freight transport. Gazprom Neft plans to substantially increase sales of gas as an engine fuel. The Agreement signed today will make it possible to considerably advance in this area,” said Alexander Dyukov.

Background

Gazprom takes sustained efforts to bring the Russian NGV market to a conceptually new level. The Russian Regions Gasification Program and all the agreements the Company signs with Russian constituent entities contain a mandatory section stipulating the development of regional NGV markets. The 2013 Gasification Program provides for investing RUB 1 billion into the construction of new NGV fueling stations and the conversion of cars to natural gas.

A special-purpose company – Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo – was set up with a view to improve the efficiency of Gazprom's strategy for the NGV market development. The company consolidates Gazprom's relevant core assets.

Gazprom Neft is focused on production and sales of petroleum products.

Gazprom Neft exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide, selling them via an extensive network of outlets in Russia and abroad. At present, there are nearly 1,300 filling stations operated by Gazprom Neft in Russia and the CIS.

As of today, Gazprom Neft owns in Russia 89 filling stations where cars can be fueled with natural gas. 85 of these stations sell liquefied petroleum gas and the other four – compressed natural gas.
