On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Sergey Vakhrukov

The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Sergey Vakhrukov, Governor of the Yaroslavl Oblast.

The meeting addressed the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Yaroslavl Oblast Administration.

The parties discussed the regional gasification issues.

An emphasis was placed on a strong discipline of payments for the natural gas supplied to the Yaroslavl Oblast, as well as on the timely and full meeting of the Oblast’s obligations regarding the preparation of consumers for gas deliveries.

Background:

The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Yaroslavl Oblast Administration was signed in February 2005, the Gasification Accord – in December 2003.

In 2008 the Yaroslavl Oblast was supplied with more than 2.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This year supplies are planned at the level of 2.8 billion cubic meters.

The average gasification level in the Yaroslavl Oblast accounts for 69.9 per cent, including 86.9 per cent in cities and towns and 19.2 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.

Between 2003 and 2008 Gazprom allocated about RUB 978 million to gasify the Yaroslavl Oblast.

In 2009 Gazprom will invest about RUB 343 million in the Oblast’s gasification. These funds will be used to continue the construction of four inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length of 86 kilometers, as well as to carry out design and exploration works for the construction of three more inter-settlement gas pipelines.
