Kazanhosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The parties addressed the issues of bilateral cooperation, namely, the prospects for the NGV market development in the Republic. It was noted that the favorable conditions were created in Tatarstan, where the level of gasification is almost a hundred per cent, for performing the abovementioned activities on a large scale.
Background
The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Tatarstan was signed in 2001 and extended in 2008. The Gasification Accord was signed in 2007, and the Agreement on wider use of natural gas as a vehicle fuel – in 2013.
The gasification level in the Republic of Tatarstan – 99.5 per cent – is one of the highest in Russia (Russia's average – 64.4 per cent).
As part of the Gazprom for Children program a children's sports complex (in Bugulma), two stadiums (in Yelabuga and Rybnaya Sloboda settlement), tennis courts (in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny) as well as five multi-purpose sports grounds in rural areas were constructed in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is projected to build a cultural and sports complex in the settlement of Bogatye Saby.
