Alexey Miller and Jim Mulva working meeting results

Today at Gazprom headquarters Alexey Miller, Chairman, Gazprom Management Committee, held a working meeting with Jim Mulva, Chairman of the Board, CEO, ConocoPhillips.

The meeting was held pursuant to the consultations with the short-listed companies chosen for realization of the first phase of developing Shtockman field.

The parties discussed major aspects of realization of the Shtockman project and the perspectives of Russian produced LNG to the American market in view of ConocoPhillips’ possibilities and proposals.

The meeting participants exchanged opinions on the current state and development prospects of the North American LNG market.

ConocoPhillips, an international integrated oil and gas company, is one of the leading players within the US energy market. The company operates in more than 40 countries in four business directions: exploration and production of hydrocarbons, transportation, oil refining and petroleum products sales, natural gas production, treatment and sales, petroleum products and plastics production and sales.

ConocoPhillips is among the three largest natural gas suppliers in the US market (together with BP and Sempra). The company sells around 90 bcm of gas annually. ConocoPhillips clients are gas distribution companies, power generation stations, industrial consumers.

ConocoPhillips has technological experience in deep-water drilling and operation in Arctic climate conditions. The company has modern gas liquefaction technologies, operates its own LNG production plant in Alaska and is developing a number of new projects in this area in other international locations.

On 22 December, 2004, Gazprom and ConocoPhillips signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document stipulates holding a preliminary feasibility study of LNG production and transportation project and sales of Shtockman gas in the USA and other Atlantic region countries.
