Gazflot to put Dunai AHTS vessel into service

Today, in the Novorossiysk Seaport, Gazflot, a Gazprom subsidiary, has taken over from Gaztechleasing the Dunai anchor handling tug/supply (AHTS) vessel to be operated on a leasehold basis.

Attending the vessel handover ceremony were Yaroslav Golko, First Deputy Head of Gazprom’s Investment & Construction Department, Vladimir Vovk, Head of Gazprom’s Technique and Technology for Offshore Fields Development Division, Alexander Mandel, Gazflot’s Director General and Anatoly Titiyevsky, Gaztechleasing’s Director General.

Gaztechleasing upgraded Dunai at a Novorossiysk shipyard self- and third party funded. The vessel will shortly sail to the Yamburg port and will be used for the implementation of Gazprom’s program embracing the Ob Bay gas fields development, including cargo deliveries, jack up drilling rigs towage and search-and-rescue services.

Reference:

Gazflot, a Gazprom wholly-owned subsidiary, specializes in geological exploration and sea & river craft designing and construction. In particular, while implementing its investment projects, Gazprom entrusts Gazflot with designing and constructing floating drilling rigs intended for offshore oil & gas field exploration and development.

Serving as Gazprom’s continental shelf operator, Gazflot is engaged in geological exploration of Russia’s offshore in the Nenets and Yamal-Nenets Districts, from the city of Murmansk to the town of Yamburg. From 1994 to 2002, Gazflot has discovered four offshore gas fields (Severo-Kamennomysskoye, Kamennomysskoye-Sea, Chuguryakhinskoye and Obskoye ones in the Ob and Taz Bays) and three offshore oil fields (Varandey-Sea, Medynskoye-Sea and Dolginskoye ones in the Pechora Sea) with the total recoverable resources valued at 1 tcm of gas and over 300 mln t of oil.

A Gazprom wholly-owned subsidiary, Gaztechleasing is a Gazprom-authorized agent in implementing the Leasing Development Conception endorsed by Gazprom’s Management Committee in May 2003 for the purpose of raising additional finance and optimizing expenses. Gaztechleasing specializes in granting leases of aeronautical, automotive and road-building machinery, gas pumping and petrochemical equipment, river and sea vessels.

Applying leasing is an effective tool for renovating vehicles, machinery, and equipment of Gazprom’s subsidiaries. Leasing allows to acquire the needed property by gradual payments from operational income without the use of current stock. At present, work is underway to apply said scheme for further renovating Gazflot’s vessel fleet.
