On meeting dedicated to pipe products supply to Gazprom in 2010

Today the Gazprom Headquarters hosted a meeting moderated by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee. The meeting was dedicated to pipe products supply to the Company in 2010.

Taking part in the meeting were Oleg Aksyutin, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Gas Transportation, Underground Storage and Utilization Department, as well as heads and experts from specialized subdivisions of Gazprom and Gazprom komplektatsiya.

The meeting participants addressed the issues related to arranging large-diameter pipe supplies in 2010 for Gazprom’s major gas transmission projects in Russia, particularly, for the construction of the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas transmission system and the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system. It was noted that advance supplies of pipe products were required to maintain the rapid pace of construction operations.

Summarizing the meeting results, the participants defined the volumes and approved the schedules of large-diameter pipe supplies in 2010, taking into account the deadlines set for Gazprom’s top priority gas transmission projects commissioning.

Background:

Among Gazprom’s top priority gas transmission projects in Russia are: the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system, the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas transmission system, the Gryazovets – Vyborg, the Pochinki – Gryazovets, the Zapolyarnoye – Urengoy and the Dzhubga – Lazarevskoye – Sochi gas pipelines.

The construction of the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas transmission system is carried out in order to develop gas supply to the Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krais, as well as other constituents of Russia’s Far Eastern Federal Okrug. The first joint of the trunkline was welded in July 2009. The first startup complex of the gas transmission system (1,350 kilometers long) will be put into operation in the third quarter of 2011.

The Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system (1,100 kilometers long) will help deliver gas from the Bovanenkovo field (the Yamal Peninsula) to the Unified Gas Supply System of Russia. The construction was launched in December 2008. The gas trunkline system commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012.
