For the first time the "Running deer" trademark was registered in the Gorky automobile plant's name in 1959 and has been valid ever since in the whole territory of Russia. In 2002 the "Running deer" won first place at the All-Russian trademark contest "Zolotnik". In 2004 JSC GAZ became the first automobile company in Russia which gained the universal knowledge status for its trademark.
To obtain this status, JSC GAZ presented a lot of actual information pertaining to all activity directions of the plant: production and sales of the products, dealership network, participation in promoting actions and exhibitions etc. As a result, the universal knowledge status of the "Running deer" trademark was successfully confirmed.
This recognition related to the field "Vehicles and spare parts" will provide for more protection of the trademark against its unauthorized use and strengthen the reputation of JSC GAZ as the main automobile company in Russia.
