On the 23rd of February in FESCO the meeting of Russian Federal Agency on Sea and River Transport Director Vyacheslav Rucksha and FESCO management took place.
During the visit of official delegation to Primorye a number of important issues on effectiveness increase of Russian civil trade fleet exploitation was touched upon, also problems of functioning fleet staff renovation and modernization, purchasing and building of new ships were discussed.
During the meeting in FESCO Director of Federal Agency V. Rucksha noted that “the present-day state sea policy focuses attention on questions of icebreaker fleet existence. In this connection FESCO PLC as a unique company – operator of icebreakers in Far-East, should place high emphasis on questions of preservation, modernization and development of domestic icebreaker fleet. This question has strategic character, besides the shipping company has great experience of ice passages and it has preserved unique crew of experienced specialists.”
V. Rucksha, Director of Sea and River fleet Agency also thanked Far-Eastern Shipping Company for the effective operation in the US Research Antarctic station McMurdo and noticed, that “we watched closely the passage of “Krasin” and we are thankful that the Russian icebreaker crew didn’t let us down. She showed to the whole world the good name of Russian icebreaker fleet.”
