According to results of 2003 the OJSC FETEC (Dalsvyaz) put into operation 11 SI-2000 digital exchanges with total capacity of 21,964 numbers in settlements of Preobrazhenie, Bolshoy Kamen, Dalnerechensk, Dalnegorsk, Lesozavodsk, Spassk, Fokino, Pogranichny, Mikhailovka, Ivanovka, Prokhladnoye.

Now residents of Primorye remote areas along with residents of large cities are able to use modern communication of high quality. In particular SI-2000 digital ATX with 256 numbers’ capacity was installed in Ivanovka of Mikhailovsky district. Two cross-bar exchanges with total capacity of 250 numbers were dismantled in January of 2004 and their subscribers were switched to a digital exchange. Additional expansion of new ATX by 256 numbers is planned in 2004.

Also FETEC (Dalsvyaz) plans to install a new digital ATX in Novoshakhtinsk village of Mikhailovsky district by the end of 2004. a cross-bar exchange with 500 numbers’ capacity will be dismantled. Mounting capacity of the new ATX will be 1024 numbers i.e. another 524 phones will be installed.

At present mounting capacity of telephone network in Mikhailovsky district is 4626 numbers (equipped capacity as of January 1, 2004 is 3963 numbers) and it is planned to be 5406 numbers by the end of 2004.
