Moscow. 10 January 2006. According to recent reports, in 2005 the power plants of RAO "UES of Russia" increased generation of electricity by 2.1% year-on-year to 665.4 billion kWh from 651,9 billion kWh. The volume of electricity consumption nationwide totalled 923.5 billion kWh in 2005, up 1.6% compared to 2004.

During the past year, the Company's thermal power plants generated 540.7 billion kWh of electricity, up 3.7% from 521.4 billion kWh in 2004. The hydroelectric power plants generated 124.7 billion kWh, down 4.4% from 130.5 billion kWh in 2004.

In December 2005, RAO UES entities generated 68.8 billion kWh of electricity, 59.5 billion kWh of which was produced by thermal power plants and 9.3 billion kWh by hydroelectric power plants of RAO "UES of Russia".
