Moscow, 4 August 2005. Repair crews of OAO "Dagenergo" have fully restored power to customers in the Khasvyurtovsky district, Republic of Dagestan, after a power outage caused by an explosion at the Aktash-110 substation. According to available data, the accident is believed to have been caused by a terrorist act.
In the night of August 4th, a bomb went off at the Aktash-110 substation. Nobody was injured by the explosion. However, power supply to some neighbouring settlements was disrupted, with the power supply restriction making 8 MW.
It should be reminded that the Akhtash-110 substation of the Northern Grids of OAO "Dagenergo" has previously been a terrorist target. Thus, on the night of July 25-26 this year, the substation was attacked with a grenade launcher.
The security staff at OAO "Dagenergo" are rendering all necessary assistance to the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan to investigate the circumstances around this terrorist act.
