Moscow, 31 October 2005. OAO "Kostromskaya TPP" and OAO "Konakovskaya TPP", subsidiaries of RAO "UES of Russia", were named winners of the VI All-Russian Competition "1000 Best Enterprises and Organizations of Russia-2005".
The Contest is organized by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Expert Institute, with the support of the Government of Russia and public organizations. It seeks to promote best practices in organizing the work of enterprises and improve the competitive capacity of Russian goods and services.
The criteria for selecting winners include their contribution to Russian economy and industry, stability of operation and development, outstanding economic performance, and social significance of the enterprises.
RAO "UES of Russia" congratulates the staff of OAO "Kostromskaya TPP" and OAO "Konakovskaya TPP" on their victory.
About the companies:
OAO "Kostromskaya TPP" is a power plant with the installed capacity of 3 600 MW, part of OAO "WGC-3". It is the only power plant which has an operating 1200-MW unit. This year, this power unit celebrated its 25th anniversary.
OAO "Konakovskaya TPP" is a power plant with an installed capacity of 2400 MW, part of OAO "WGC-5". 2004 saw the 40th anniversary of the launch of the first power unit of the Konakovskaya TPP.
