Moscow, 21 February 2005. Anatoly Chubais has appointed Victor Gvozdev General Director of OAO "TGC-8". The nomination of Victor Gvozdev has been unanimously supported by the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia".
Victor Gvozdev was born in 1963 in the settlement of Vostochny, Serovsky District, Sverdlovsk Region. In 1985, he graduated from Novocherkassky Polytechnic Institute, where he specialized in power engineering. In 1985-1996 he worked at the Chulmanskaya TPP of Yakutskenergo, and in 1996-2003 at OAO "Novocherkasskaya TPP", where he held the position of Chief Engineer and First Deputy Director General of the power plant in 1999-2003. In 2003, Victor Gvozdev was appointed General Director of OAO "Nevinnomysskaya TPP".
Resolution on the establishment of OAO "TGC-8 was approved by the Board of Directors of RAO "UES of Russia" on 29 October 2004. According to the resolution, OAO "TGC-8" will be created on the basis of the generation assets of: OAO "Astrakhanenergo" (after the reorganization of OAO "Astrakhanenergo", the generation assets of OAO "Astrakhan Regional Generation Company"), OAO "Volgogradenergo" (after the reorganization of OAO "Volgogradenergo", the generation assets of OAO "Volzhskaya Generation Company"), OAO "Kubanenergo" (after the reorganization of OAO "Kubanenergo", the generation assets of OAO "Kuban Generation Company"), OAO "Rostovenergo" (after the reorganization of OAO "Rostovenergo", the generation assets of OAO "Rostov Generation Company"), Kaspiyskaya CHPP and Makhachkalinskaya CHPP of OAO "Dagenergo" (after the reorganization of OAO "Dagenergo", the generation assets of OAO "Dagestan Heat Generation Company"), and Kislovodskaya CHPP of OAO "Stavropolenergo" (after the reorganization of OAO "Stavropolenergo", the generation assets of OAO "Stavropol Heat Generation Company").
