Moscow. 20 June 2008. RAO "UES of Russia" and the all-Russia business association Delovaya Rossiya will create a special project group to develop Russian power-plant industry. The decision was made based on results of a meeting dedicated to the current situation and perspectives of the power-plant industry, attended by Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais and Chairman of Delovaya Rossiya Boris Titov.
The power-plant industry is one of the most promising sectors of the Russian economy and it can become one of the key drivers of its competitive power improvement. Currently the industry is facing new challenges in connection with the large-scale investment processes in the Russian electricity industry and the entrance of foreign manufactures of power-plant equipment to the Russian market.
The functions of the project group will include preparation of proposals regarding state support of the power-plant industry and measures aimed at expansion of cooperation between Russian and foreign power-plant manufacturers.
RAO "UES of Russia" and Delovaya Rossiya invite other interested parties to participate in work and financing of the project group.
