Moscow, 22 December 2006. The site "85th Anniversary of GOELRO Plan" has been named the "Event of the Year" and the "Classic of the Year" in the "Golden Site 2006" Awards.

The website "85th Anniversary of the GOELRO Plan" (www.85goelro.rao-ees.ru) went live in December 2005. It was created by RAO "UES of Russia" in cooperation with the Rambler Internet Holding as part of the preparations for the 85th Anniversary of the GOELRO Plan. The website describes the history of the Russian electricity industry beginning from the first construction projects under the GOELRO plan to today's largest power plant projects.

The awards given to the website demonstrates the recognition and appreciation of the project by the Russian Internet community.

The Zolotoy Site ("Golden Site") Awards were established in 1997 as the first Russian Internet contest. The Expert Council includes the most authoritative representatives of the Internet community and the IT industry. Over the years, the Jury has be chaired by Anatoly Karachinsky, Anton Nosik, Khachatur Arushanov, Sergey Osipov, Tatyana Zhelonkina, and Artemy Lebedev. In 2006, the Jury Chairman was Anatoly Eksler.
