Moscow, 18 December 2006. The Exhibition of Modern Art "Contour of the Light" opened today in the State Central Museum of Modern History of Russia.

The exhibition was organized with the support of RAO "UES of Russia" and timed to coincide with 22 December, the Day of Energy Industry Worker, and the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Unified Energy System of Russia celebrated in 2006. The exhibition curator is Georgy Nikich.

The Contour of the Light Exhibition features works by famous artists, which may be viewed as indirect illustrations of the history and development of the Unified Energy System and its present role in Russia. The exhibits include photographs, paintings, drawings, objects, videos. These works of art are completely different in terms of meaning and techniques, but together they create a complex and polyphonic artistic world.

The exhibition features works by such famous Moscow artists, as Alexander Vinogradov, Vladimir Dubossarsky, Vikenty Nilin, Aslexey Plutser-Sarno, Sergey Shutov, Vladimir Arkhipov, and Kirill Chelushkin.

The Company traditionally organizes events dedicated to anniversaries in the history of the Russian electricity sector. Thus, in 2002, RAO "UES of Russia" held the Russian Avant-Garde Exhibition to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Company, and in 2005, the Wonder of the World Exhibition to mark the 85th Anniversary of the GOELRO Plan.
