Baltika Brewery has completed the deal on purchase of Pikra Brewery shares under which 16.38% of Pikra ordinary shares were acquired.
Thus the implementation of the strategy announced by Baltika's and Pikra's majority shareholder - BBH, to strengthen its position on the Russian market and to increase coordination of collaboration between BBH breweries has continued. The deal is aimed at optimization of BBH shareholding structure. Many steps have already been taken to improve the company's operations: agreements between different BBH breweries have been made on co-production, joint distribution, joint media buying, raw materials purchasing etc.

Pikra Brewery is the largest producer of beer, soft drinks, mineral water and FABs in East Siberia. Pikra Brewery was founded in 1991 on the basis of Krasnoyarsk Brewery, which had been founded in 1875 and is the oldest operating enterprise in Krasnoyarsk. Baltic Beverages Holding AB (BBH) is Pikra's majority shareholder, and owns 70.32% of its shares.
Results of the year 2004 show that Pikra has a 1.3% share of the total Russian market. In Krasnoyarsk region, Khakasija and Tuva its share is 33%, in Eastern Siberia - 15-16%.
