Moscow, Russia - November 12, 2007 Victor Shpringel was appointed as Vice-President of MBRD, Head of Strategy and Development Department. He was promoted from the Head of Strategy and Corporate Development Division.

Mr. Shpringel's scope of responsibilities includes elaboration of MBRD's strategy, development of the Bank and banking group, competitiveness analysis, M&A and integration process.

Biography

Victor K. Shpringel was born September 7, 1971, in Moscow.

In 1993 he graduated from Moscow State University with diploma in "Biochemistry". In 1998 he obtained a diploma in Economics from Higher School of Economics State University. In 2004 Victor Shpringel obtained PhD in Economics.

His professional career started from the position of research officer at Moscow State University. In 1998 he joined the analytical department of "Your Financial Advisor" company. After the crisis of 1998 he worked at the Bank of Russia with his career at the company reaching the position of the Head of Banking Analysis Sector at Prudential Control Department.

In 2000-2002 he worked at the Department of Development and Strategic Planning at "Vnesheconombank of USSR", then he occupied the position of Senior Expert of Strategic Analysis Planning and Development at "International Moscow Bank".

In 2003-2005 he occupied the position of Leading Expert - Head of Monetary Policy Section at "Open Economy Institute" (YUKOS). In 2005 he joined KPMG company as a manager of Business Consultancy.

In November 2006 he occupied the position of the Head of Strategy and Corporate Development Division at MBRD.
