December 6, 2004, Moscow. – A group of auditors representing Sky Team Alliance companies made its first Aeroflot flight safety audit according to IOSA (International Safety Audit adopted by IATA). Due to IATA demands all members of this international association are to be certificated according to IOSA standards by 2006 (the certification audit of our company is to take place at the end of 2005).
Within the audit there were examined the company’s system of organization and management, flight control, navigation supply of flights, air technical complex, on-board service and carriage control ground complex, freight carriages. Multiplicity and high professional status of the group members indicates high volume of audit and evidences the alliance to be deliberate affiliating new members.
According to the preliminary results of Aeroflot audit there were made significantly less remarks than during the same audit in other airline companies – the Alliance members. Within the audit Aeroflot was provided with some recommendations to meet The Requirements on Joining the Alliance. The leading auditor Georges Andrieu, Air France representative, noted that the work on providing flight safety in Aeroflot was improved significantly during last two years and undoubtedly it was much due to quality management system introduced in the company.
The official report on results of Aeroflot flight safety audit is to be considered at Sky Team Committee in December 2004; according to it they are to make the official conclusion on Aeroflot providing the flight safety level to meet The Requirements on Joining the Alliance.
