Aeroflot increases safety of flights to Havana

To provide passengers’ right for convenient and safe flight Aeroflot made a decision on special escorting of flights Su333/334 Moscow-Havana-Moscow by Civil Safety Service (CSS) of the airline company. This measure is to be introduced from April 2.

Aeroflot announced already about imperfection of the Russian legislation concerning “air hooligans” responsibility. Under weak legal base the only efficient preventive punishment against disorderly conduct aboard is escorting flights with specially trained personnel. This generally accepted measure helps prevent hooligan actions by 40% on average.

Similar measures on providing passengers safety are used on flights Moscow-Bangkok-Moscow.

Aeroflot pays special attention to the point that hooligan behavior is not permitted aboard for it may violate passengers’ and the crew’s safety and comfort. According to international experience embodied in Convention on Offences and Certain Other Acts Committed on Board Aircraft (Tokyo, September 14, 1963) and Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Civil Aviation (Montreal, September 23, 1971) and fighting against “air hooliganism” the airline company applies measures to abusers according to laws currently in force. Aeroflot took an active part in working out a draft law on Civil Aviation Protection against Acts of Unlawful Intervention.

In 2004 Aeroflot registered 26 cases when passengers-abusers were refused totravel back by Aeroflot flights. No case was appealed in court.
