Moscow. 21 January 2006. According to updates from OAO "Mosenergosbyt", the Moscow city energy retail company, no restrictions will be imposed on the deliveries of electricity to enterprises in Moscow on Saturday and Sunday.
The power supply to industrial consumers in the Moscow Region will be reduced insignificantly* by about 30 MW during the evening peak load from 15:00 until 22:00 hours. These restrictions will be imposed on energy deliveries to the enterprises connected to the Northern electricity grids of Moscow and receiving power from the 500 kV Beskudnikovo substation, which has been running at overload for several days now due to the peculiarities of the network topology.
During the evening peak of 21 January, the load in the Moscow energy system is expected to be 15,000 MW.

* The deliveries of power to industrial consumers will be reduced to the lowest possible level of consumption required for a consumer to safely complete a technological process, with advance notice given to each such consumer. These coercive measures, taken pursuant to Resolution of the Russian Government No. 664 of 1999, are designed to prevent power outages. The temporary restrictions of power supply to industrial consumers are necessary to ensure stable power supply to households, medical institutions, the city's vital infrastructure, and buildings of state authorities and security agencies.
