Moscow, 3 March. Enterprises of RAO "UES of Russia" are expanding power generation and ensuring an increase in electricity consumption in Russia. During the 27 days of February this year, the power consumption exceeded the anticipated level by 1.22 billion kWh (1.6% of the target). The increased energy consumption was observed both in the areas where the February temperatures have been lower (Centre of Russia, North Caucasus) and higher than the mean daily temperatures for the period (Urals, Siberia, North-West of Russia).
As a result, in February, the thermal power plants (TPPs) of RAO "UES of Russia" generated 140.9 million kWh of electricity, or 1.5% more than the target for the period, while the regional energos' TPPs exceeded the target by 569.9 million kWh (1.4%). The hydroelectric power plants of RAO "UES of Russia", on the whole, exceeded the target by 460.6 million kWh (12.4%), despite the water supply deficit in some regions of Russia. It should be noted that RAO "UES of Russia" succeeded in ensuring high quality of electrical current: in February, the UES of Russia operated 100% of calendar time at the prescribed frequency averaging 50.00 Hz. At the same time, the nuclear power plants fell short of the generation target by 214.0 million kWh (1.7%) in February.
The RAO UES enterprises are ready to further meet the increasing energy consumption, securing the necessary fuel stocks at their thermal power plants. In the 27 days of February, the black oil supplies to TPPs of RAO "UES of Russia" exceeded the target by 64%, and the coal supplies, by 25%. As a result, at the beginning of March, the fuel oil inventories at the power plants of RAO "UES of Russia" beat the target by 14%, and the coal inventories, by 32%.
