According to the plan on introduction of new technologies in Stavropol, morally obsolete equipment ETK-KS in the telegraph network was replaced by SKAT-1000 exchange. The switching over to the new exchange has already been completed.

Telegraph exchange KS SKAT-1000 is designed for replacement of electronic telegraph concentrator ETK-KS and provides additional services. Installation of the new SKAT-1000 equipment will make it possible to reduce the number of telegraph printers connected via telegraph channels, thus, 20 released telegraph printers F-2000 will be used in the remote terminals of the Stavropol Territory. Besides, the exchange allows to reduce power consumption by 20-25 percent and to improve the efficiency of message handling and complex management. Integrated exchange SKAT-1000 supports IP-communication which will make it possible to abandon low-grade and expensive telegraph channels.

In the 4^th  quarter of 2002 new digital PBX with equipped capacity of 24 582 lines was put into operation in Stavropol. Modern switching equipment "NEAX-61 Sigma" was supplied by the company "NEC-Neva" from Saint Petersburg.

G.4 - version of this equipment and the software supports the functions of SS-7, ISDN, V5 and SORM.

In addition to the high quality of telephone connection the new PBX provides its customers with wide range of additional services including ISDN-services.
