The number of OJSC N.W.Telecom 's subscriber s using the service of the broadband access to the Internet has exceeded 700,000. Alexey Bogdanov, a resident of St. Petersburg, who has been recently connected to the Avangard* service, has become the jubilee subscriber for broadband access.

On 8th April 2009 Oleg Popov, Deputy General Manager – the Commercial Manager of OJSC N.W.Telecom , congratulated the 700,000th subscriber at the Sales and Clients Servicing Point of the Petersburg Branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom located in the Astra Shopping and Entertainment Centre on Balkanskaya Square. Alexey Bogdanov was given a digital set – a camera and a photo printer – as a gift.

"The other day the RuNet celebrated its 15th anniversary. And it is symbolic that we connected our jubilee subscriber in fact on the birthday of the Russian -language Internet . Due to the active investment policy and the development of the communication infrastructure, the number of Internet users of our Company has been increasing annually. 700,000 broadband access subscriber s is a result that we can indeed be proud of. The marketing initiatives and unique rate proposals of OJSC N.W.Telecom have made the Internet access a mass service accessible to residents and enterprise s of the North-West of Russia. At the same time, we continue our movement forward and the development of the most up-to-date broadband access services. We were one of the first companies in Russia to launch IP TV for commercial operation in December 2007, and now we already have almost 6,000 connection s. At the end of the last year we started the commercial operation of Triple Play services on the basis of the PON technology", Oleg Popov said.

The service of   broad-band access to the Internet using the xDSL technology is intended for both individual and corporate clients . As the trends of the connection s show, the service is in keen demand among the target audience. Late in 2006 the number of the broadband access subscriber s of OJSC N.W.Telecom was a little more than 90,000, by the end of 2007 their number increased to 300,000, and in the last days of December 2008 it exceeded 600,000 connections.
